Designed by Mark Bowdidge
A 9.75 m offshore centre console with accommodation, the largest design from Mark Bowdidge of Bowdidge Marine Designs, Australia. It was commissioned by a Queensland owner who wanted to fish his way across the top of Australia to the Kimberley. Below the console are a double berth, a simple galley, a flushing toilet and a shower. The strip plank composite hull is 2.84 m wide with 25 degrees of deadrise and 457 mm of draft, carrying 600 litres of fuel, 210 litres of water and 500 to 800 hp.
This is a major undertaking for an experienced amateur with space, budget and several years to give. The designer quotes no hours; expect 4,000 or more. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
