Pamlico 32
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 32 ft 8 in shallow-water cruiser by Sam Devlin, commissioned by North Carolina boatbuilder Bruce Mierke for rivers and protected sounds. Long and lean on an 8 ft 4 in beam, it trailers without permits, draws 13 in, and runs at its 7.5 knot hull speed on a 60 hp outboard in a semi-well. It has a bow cockpit reached through a pilothouse door as well as the aft cockpit, plus a separate head and shower, dinette and galley.
The 13-sheet plan set has panel expansions for stitch and glue, with an extra quarter inch layer cold molded onto the bottom. The size calls for prior experience. As a rule of thumb, expect 2,000 to 3,500 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Pamlico 32 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
