Kokanee 36
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 36 ft sailing fishing boat by Sam Devlin drawn for a customer who wanted to fish and cruise northern waters, and intended for stitch and glue construction. It carries a modest 348 sq ft rig with a roller furling jib, trolling poles handled from the aft cockpit, a pot puller, a hydraulic anchor windlass and a livable cabin. Under sail while trolling, the engine does little more than run the hydraulics.
The design exists as preliminary drawings sold as study plans, or as a custom build from the Devlin shop, so construction plans would have to be developed with the designer. The site gives only the length. As a rule of thumb, expect 5,000 to 8,000 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
