A 69 ft 10 in (21.3 m) on deck steel gaff schooner by Dudley Dix, 82 ft overall, suited to charter, excursion or cargo work. It displaces 47,550 kg and takes 150 to 250 hp. The boat built to it, Spirit of Malverne, reported 19 knots running in the trades from Cape Town to St Helena and steered herself for ten days on the return.
This is sold as a partial design at a low price: lines, offsets, sail and rigging plan, a few construction sections and standard steel and gaff rig details. It suits a builder able to work out the rest, with strong welding skills. Expect well over 15,000 hours as a rough guide. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
