Coaster
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 25 ft 2 in trailerable motorsailer from Glen-L Marine on a flat-bottomed, dory-form hull with a ballast keel and centerboard, planked in half-inch sides and three-quarter-inch bottom plywood. It motors at 6 to 7 knots on a 6 to 16 hp inboard or a well-mounted outboard, sleeps two adults and two children, and beaches for the night.
Simple dory construction makes this one of the more approachable 25-footers, but it is still a big boat with a cabin. Budget 1,000 to 1,800 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Coaster actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
