Islander
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 24 ft 11 in classically styled cabin cruiser from Glen-L Marine with a central straight-shaft inboard, a big cabin with dinette, enclosed head, galley and vee berths, and a large cockpit. Double-diagonal plywood bottom with bulbous keel and reverse chine, sheet plywood sides. Finished with brightwork and chrome it becomes the classic without the 40-year-old problems.
Glen-L suggests it for the builder who enjoys extra care and detail, and that is where the hours go. Budget 1,500 to 2,500 hours. Measured medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Islander actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
