Ke-Pau
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 6 ft hand-cranked paddlewheel boat for young children from Glen-L Marine, a flat-bottomed plywood scow with vertical sides and a crank at each side, cut from a single sheet of quarter-inch plywood. The Northwest Maritime Center found it the most popular loaner in its festival fleet.
No fairing or shaping at all, so it is a project for a parent or grandparent and a helper. Allow 20 to 40 hours. Medians from logged builds appear below.
What building a Ke-Pau actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.

If you are building one, yours becomes the reference: the page the next person building this boat finds when they search for it. One photo and one line is a valid first entry.
