A 25 ft 11 in St. Pierre dory from Glen-L Marine, the Grand Banks fishing dory in sheet plywood: two layers of half-inch on the bottom, flaring topsides, a small cuddy for two. The plans detail the traditional haul-up shaft inboard, a conventional inboard, or a well-mounted outboard that tilts clear for beaching, 5 to 30 hp. Glen-L publish a hull depth of 5 ft 6 in.
The bare hull comes out at about 1000 lb. Headroom below is 5'-0". The hull is a flat bottom St. Pierre type dory with flaring topsides, developed for sheet plywood planking; two layers of 1/2"on the bottom, one 3/8" or 1/2" layer on topsides. They draw a matching trailer for her. Dory construction is about the simplest way to build a 26-footer. Budget 700 to 1,200 hours over one to three years. Real hours from logged builds appear below.
