PowerYak - Electric Kayak

A 16 ft 10 in stitch-and-glue kayak from Glen-L Marine with a concealed electric trolling motor under a hatch, run from 12 or 24 volt deep-cycle batteries, for one or two people. Forward controls handle speed, steering and reverse, and it can still be paddled.

A hard-chine stitch-and-glue hull in quarter-inch plywood that a beginner can manage, plus a modest amount of electrical work detailed on the plans. Budget 100 to 200 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
