Breeze Baby
Designed by Grandpa's Archive
Breeze Baby is a 12 ft single-sail boat by William D. Jackson that also takes a 2 to 3 hp outboard. She has rowboat lines, which keep her simple to build, but the article says she will plane with one person aboard on a reach and calls her an ideal first boat.
The hull is plywood built over two mold frames that are removed once the planking, seats and knees are in, so the inside is free of permanent frames; even the building form can be cut up for storage skids. Jackson specified Exterior AA plywood and Weldwood glue, and patterns for the stem, transom and molds are laid out full size on rosin paper. Small enough to car top or trailer.
What building a Breeze Baby actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
