A 22 ft 2 in double-ended cruising sloop by Iain Oughtred, loosely based on the Folkboat. Beam is 7 ft 9 1/2 in. She can be built with a centerboard, drawing 2 ft 3 in with the board up and displacing 3,800 lb, or as a keelboat drawing 3 ft 5 in at 3,900 lb, and rigged bermudian with 245 sq ft or gunter with 265. The WoodenBoat Store sells the 12-sheet plans, spelling the name Gray Seal.
Lapstrake plywood over laminated frames. Lofting is required and the plans seller rates it intermediate to advanced, so this is a boat for an experienced amateur.
