Goldfish
Designed by Plyboat
Goldfish is a slightly smaller Happy Hour, cut down to 2.3 m so that every part fits within the length of a standard plywood sheet and no splicing is needed. Two sheets of 6 mm exterior plywood make the boat, assembled stitch and glue with 75 mm glass tape and epoxy inside and out, and the whole hull is epoxy coated for a longer life.
With a 0.85 m beam it is stable, and a long fin keel makes it track better than its short flat shape would suggest; the designer managed to stand up in it during sea trials. It weighs about 14 kg and carries 110 kg, has storage and flotation chambers at both ends, and uses the front bulkhead as a foot brace. Like its bigger sister it is aimed at anglers, birdwatchers and photographers. The plans include a custom seat.
What building a Goldfish actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
