Tweak

Designed by Plyboat

Tweak gets its name from its origin: the designer started from the well-known D4/D5 dinghy and tweaked it into something smaller and lighter that would fit his 4 ft roof bars. The result is 2.2 m long and 1.12 m wide, with freeboard raised by about 40 mm, a shallower V bottom for more initial stability, more flare to throw off spray and extra beam aft to carry an outboard of up to 1.5 hp or an electric motor.

The interior was redrawn with no transverse thwarts, leaving more legroom and saving weight; the prototype weighed 21 kg, and it will carry 200 kg. Two seating layouts are shown, and plywood flotation and storage boxes can be added. Everything fits on two sheets of 6 mm exterior plywood, and the stitch and glue instructions run to 20 illustrated pages.
