Stasha

Designed by Benjy

A 7 ft 2 in (2.2 m) nesting dinghy from Woodenwidget, which the designer calls the lightest nesting dinghy in the world at about 10 kg (22 lb) for the basic boat. A light wooden framework glued with epoxy is braced with diagonal Kevlar fibres and covered in heat-shrunk Dacron. The stern half nests in the bow half to make a 4 ft package, and the halves join afloat or ashore with two bolts. It carries two adults or 150 kg, takes a 3.3 hp outboard and can be sailed.

The ribs are bent with a heat gun and no section is longer than 4 ft, so it needs little space and no experience. The designer's figure is about 50 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
