5m Raptor
Designed by Spirited Designs
The 5m Raptor is a small open power catamaran meant for fishing, diving and general day use inshore, with a self-draining wet deck, a full width bench seat across the front of the cockpit and a centre console. The example in the designer's photos was supplied as a plate aluminium kit engineered to survey standards, and with a single 115 hp outboard it topped 30 knots and cruised at about 25.
Few designs offer this many ways to build. Plans give dimensioned hull parts for a builder to mark and cut, or a kit arrives CNC cut with the epoxy and glass included, in DuFLEX panel, plain foam, gaboon plywood or aluminium. Weight, and so the engine needed, depends on the choice: a foam boat starts at twin 40 hp outboards, and the designer puts a basic finish at around 1,200 hours.
What building a 5m Raptor actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.

If you are building one, yours becomes the reference: the page the next person building this boat finds when they search for it. One photo and one line is a valid first entry.
