Not a boat: the Plysonic is a wooden badminton racket from Woodenwidget. The head is laminated from strips about 1 mm thick bent round a purpose-made jig, the shaft is a ready-made 7 mm carbon tube and the handle is any light wood. It is 675 mm long and weighs about 94 g, only slightly more than a modern racket, with a head-heavy balance. Ash, beech, teak or pine all work, as does ordinary real-wood edge banding.
The plans run to over 150 photographs and cover every step, along with epoxy use, sharpening and varnishing. A few less common tools help, such as a pillar drill with a drum sander. It needs very little space, and no build time is given. Any builds logged here appear below.
