Model boat kit
King of the Mississippi
Kit by Artesania Latina
This kit represents a wooden sternwheel river steamer of the kind that carried passengers and freight on the Mississippi into the 20th century.
The 1:80 model is built on a false keel and frames from laser cut plywood with birch and basswood strips, and it has two large photo etched sheets plus die cast and brass fittings. An optional motor set can turn the paddle wheel and an LED set can light it.
What building a King of the Mississippi actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
