Model boat kit
Dragen
Kit by Billing Boats
The Dragon is a three person keelboat designed by the Norwegian Johan Anker in 1929 for a design competition run by the Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club. She was an Olympic class from 1948 to 1972 and is still raced as a one design in many countries.
This 1:12 kit builds a 75 cm model with a wooden hull and a brass keel, standing about one metre tall with the rig. Billing rates it for experienced builders, the third of its four levels.
What building a Dragen actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
