Model boat kit
Skipjack
Kit by Dumas
Skipjacks are the sail powered oyster dredging boats of Chesapeake Bay. Maryland law long allowed dredging on its oyster bars only under sail, so the type survived as the last working sail fleet in the United States, and the skipjack became the state boat of Maryland in 1985.
This kit is part of Dumas' laser cut static series and builds a 12 in display model with scribed decks, full size plans and step by step instructions.
What building a Skipjack actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
