Slo-Mo-Shun IV
Kit by Billing Boats
Slo-Mo-Shun IV was an unlimited hydroplane owned by Stanley Sayres and designed by Ted Jones. In 1950 she set a world water speed record of about 160 mph on Lake Washington and won the Gold Cup in Detroit, which brought the race to Seattle. Her hull rode on its propeller and two sponsons, a layout later hydroplanes followed.
Billing Boats' 1:12 kit builds a 75 cm model with a wooden hull and includes a photo manual. It is rated for experienced builders.
