A 14 ft catamaran designed by Hobie Alter, built from 1967. She carries 7 ft 8 in beam, 8 in draft and 240 lb displacement.

The boat that started the beach catamaran, and the one Hobie Alter drew first. Hobie Cat grew out of Hobie Alter's surfboard shop in California and put beach catamaran sailing within reach of anyone with a car and a stretch of sand.
