A 9 ft 7 in self-bailing plywood skiff by Arch Davis with a 4 ft 5 in beam, designed as a tender for a friend's sailboat and first described in National Fisherman in late 1993. It was the test bed for the designer's inside-out building method, later used for the Jiffy 22.
There is no building jig and there are no frames. The watertight deck is cut to shape first, a stem, transom and a set of fore-and-aft members are added, the bottom is glued and screwed or nailed to them, and the sides go on last. Part shapes are laid out directly on the plywood, so no lofting is needed. Budget 50 to 100 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
