Salmon Wherry 17
Designed by Bartender Boats
A stretched member of the modified West Coast salmon wherry family, 17 ft overall and 14 ft 8 in on the waterline, with a 5 ft 6 in beam, a 6 in draft and 114 sq ft of sail. The extra beam over the 15 ft 6 in boat gives her more room and stability for a sailing and rowing boat that carries a couple of people and some gear.
The plan set is a short one: a lines drawing without offsets, the hull plan and profile and the sail plan. For how to actually build her, the sellers direct builders to the construction details in the 15 ft 6 in wherry plans, so the two sets are best bought together.
What building a Salmon Wherry 17 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
