GT Cruiser 27
Designed by Jacques Mertens
A 27 ft 6 in river cruiser by Jacques Mertens of Bateau, a lengthened GT Cruiser 23 for rivers, lakes and bays. The extra length gives two separate cabins, a head with shower and a full galley under 6 ft 2 in headroom. Beam is 8 ft 9 in and hull weight about 2,000 lb. It is happiest at 8 to 10 mph on 25 hp, though it will plane with 90 hp or more.
Stitch and glue without a jig like the 23, or upside down on a jig, with a foam sandwich superstructure favored. The designer's figure is 60 hours for the hull and 300 or more for a finished boat; budget 600 to 1,000 hours for a fully fitted cruiser. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a GT Cruiser 27 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
