Panga 25
Designed by Jacques Mertens
A 25 ft panga by Jacques Mertens, the largest of the series from Bateau / Boat Builder Central. It comes in two versions that differ only in sheer line: the PG25 and the straighter-sheered PG25S. Beam is 7 ft 5 in, draft 8 in, hull weight about 1,370 lb, fuel 55 gallons, and 75 to 125 hp is recommended. A cabin version is sold separately.
Stitch and glue in method but a true sandwich of plywood between directional glass. The designer notes that a long, slim hull is easier to plank. His figure is 50 hours for the hull and 120 or more finished. A first build more often runs 400 to 700. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
What building a Panga 25 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
