Panga 25 Cabin
Designed by Jacques Mertens
A 25 ft panga-style outboard boat with a small cuddy cabin, drawn by Jacques Mertens and sold by Bateau through Boat Builder Central. It is the Panga 25 work boat hull, a slim 7 ft 5 in vee hull that is economical to run, with a cuddy added forward. Construction is plywood-cored epoxy and fiberglass composite over a jig, with foam sandwich specifications available on request. Power is 75 to 125 hp, the tank holds 55 gallons.
The designer says anyone who has finished a smaller jig-built boat can manage this one given enough time. The study plans put the hull shell at 120 hours and a finished boat at 200 to 300 hours; a first-time builder should allow more. Real hours from logged builds are below.
What building a Panga 25 Cabin actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
