Skoota 18

Designed by Richard Woods

A 5.6 m (18 ft 4 in) trailable outboard power catamaran designed by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, also sold by Bateau. It is based on the Chat 18 sailing catamaran, with extra buoyancy aft to carry an engine of up to 20 hp, giving an economical 9 to 10 knot cruise and a top speed in the low teens. A small cuddy gives shelter, and the long cockpit seats under a tent allow a night aboard. Beam is 2.5 m and empty weight about 700 lb.

Construction is conventional stitch and glue plywood, and the designer calls it simple to build and trail. The designer's estimate is 300 hours; a first-time builder might budget 300 to 500. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
