Skoota 24

Designed by Richard Woods

A 7.52 m (24 ft 7 in) folding, trailable power catamaran by Richard Woods of Woods Designs, also sold by Bateau. It is a cruising development of the Skoota 20 for sheltered coastal water. The center-cockpit layout gives a double berth in an aft cabin and two singles in the saloon. A single 40 hp outboard gives a 10 to 14 knot cruise at about 10 mpg. Beam is 3.95 m and empty weight about 1,500 lb.

Like the 20 it is built in plywood over stringers and frames with glass and epoxy sheathing, in sections that fit a normal garage. Flat panels keep it within reach of an amateur with some experience. No hours are published; budget 1,000 to 1,800. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
