Oabåt no. 19
Designed by Bertil Andersson
Listed on the site as Oabåt or Blekingseka YD 17, this boat shows how far the Blekinge type travelled west. Harald Grufstedt built her in oak in 1952 at Revhusen near Ystad in Skåne, and she carried the fishing registration YD 17 when Bertil Andersson measured her in September 1980.
At 5.175 m by 1.60 m she is longer and finer than most of the Blekinge ekor in the series, which fits a boat working the open south coast. The plans are a full set of four sheets at 1:10: sail plan, construction drawing, frame drawing and lines. That makes her one of the better documented sailing versions of the type, with the high five-sided transom and few broad oak strakes that define a Blekingseka wherever it was built.
