Pålpråm no. 28
Designed by Bertil Andersson
A pile-driving barge, and the most mechanical drawing in the collection. Magnus Larsson built her at Lilla Hammar in Skåne in 1940, with oak frames and top strake and the rest in spruce, to drive the heavy stakes that anchored the eel bottom nets off the south Swedish coast.
Her working gear was a heavy timber frame that hoisted an iron hammer high enough to drop it onto the stake head, driven by an engine and winch, and the drawing records it in detail. The set runs to five sheets at 1:10: construction drawing, rig drawings from astern and from the side, frames and a plan view. She is 5.93 m by 2.22 m. Andersson notes that prams like this were usually carpenters' work rather than boatbuilders', and the plans read accordingly.
What building a Pålpråm no. 28 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
