Spindrift Dinghy

Designed by Graham Byrnes

A stitch and glue sailing dinghy and tender by Graham Byrnes of B&B Yacht Designs, offered at 9, 10, 11 and 12 ft, with more than 1,500 plans sold. The Spindrift 9 is 9 ft by 4 ft 1 in and 75 to 90 lb with a 45 sq ft cat rig, and the 12 reaches 130 to 150 lb with 70 sq ft. All but the 12 can be built as nesting two-part boats for deck stowage. Plans and CNC kits are sold.

The hull is wired along the keel and unfolded like a butterfly with no jig, and B&B calls it a great build for a first-timer. Budget 60 to 120 hours as a rule of thumb. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
