At 19 ft by 7 ft 2 in, this is the big Sponge Docks Skiff, a center console boat with a self-bailing cockpit, a 25 gallon fuel tank and an open layout with no fiddly hatches to make. Bedard still pitches it at first-time builders: the sole panels lift out to make construction easier, the hull panels cannot be put together in the wrong order, and on the CNC parts the panel IDs and structural intersections are marked right on the plywood.
She weighs about 900 lb dry and draws 8 in. Recommended power is 70 hp, with 160 hp the maximum. The plan set is a substantial package: four large sheets, fourteen shop drawings covering items from the fuel tank to the console, five rolls of full-size templates and a 61 page assembly manual with more than sixty photos. Plans, CNC-cut parts and a complete kit are all available.
