A 5.79 m centre console by Mark Bowdidge of Bowdidge Marine Designs, Australia, pitched as an all-round sports and fishing boat. The strip plank composite hull has 15 degrees of deadrise, a 2.23 m beam and 254 mm of draft. There is lounge seating forward with storage beneath, an open cockpit, a transom gate to an integral swim platform, a 200 litre fuel tank and a 175 hp maximum. Trailer weight with motor and fuel is estimated at 812 kg.
The 23-sheet plan set includes full-size patterns and a strip-planking video. The technique can be learned on the job, but fairing a 19 ft hull is slow work, so some earlier epoxy experience helps. With no designer figure, budget 900 to 1,500 hours. Real hours from logged builds are below.
