Design
41 ft DE Cutter Quiet Bird or P.H. Cutter Clayton
Designed by Jay R. Benford
A 41 ft design from Jay Benford's catalog, drawn for cold moulded or solid fibreglass construction, so the same hull can be built in whichever suits the shop. One of the cruising sail designs, the part of the catalog that dominated the office for years and fills Cruising Designs.
Benford publishes a displacement of 26,000 lb in coastal cruising trim, which is tanks full with the crew and their stores aboard rather than a shipping weight. Plans are sold to owner-builders, and study plans are sold separately for anyone wanting to look before committing.
