15' Doppelt Kajak
Designed by Boatkits
A 4.65 m two-seat kayak added to the Boatkits range after repeated customer requests, and sold as a CNC-cut stitch-and-glue plywood kit by the kit arm of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. It is a compact tandem, 0.70 m wide and about 25 kg, that carries two adults or an adult and a child.
Boatkits calls it very easy to build and quick to assemble, asking only for care and attention to the instructions when handling the glass cloth. Boatkits gives 60 to 70 hours for hull and structure only and puts fairing, paint and outfitting at 1 to 1.5 times that again. A rough budget is 120 to 175 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
