16' Seecruiser
Designed by Boatkits
A 4.91 m outboard cabin cruiser sold as a CNC-cut plywood kit by Boatkits, the kit arm of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. It has a large cockpit with lengthwise seats and a small cabin for overnighting. Heavy longitudinal stringers and frames stiffen the hull for open water. Beam is 2.00 m, weight about 167 kg, crew up to five, and power 15 to 60 hp. An 18 ft version is also sold.
More structure and joinery than the open boats, so best with some woodworking experience. Boatkits quotes 110 to 120 hours for hull and structure and says finishing adds 1 to 1.5 times that again, so budget roughly 220 to 300 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
