Candlefish 16 Casting Deck
Designed by Sam Devlin
The 16 ft 2 in Candlefish 16 hull by Sam Devlin fitted out for anglers, with an open cockpit, wide side decks and a raised casting platform over the forward half of the boat with a large locker beneath. Beam is 82 in, draft 7.5 in, and dry weight is about 630 lb in 3/8 in plywood or 750 lb in 1/2 in. It takes up to 50 hp. Chesapeake Light Craft handles kit enquiries directly and plans come from Devlin.
Stitch-and-glue from traditional plans. CLC grades it advanced, for builders with stationary tools and solid epoxy experience, and estimates 300 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
