17' Ausflugsboot
Designed by Boatkits
A 5.00 m open day launch for lakes, rivers and fjords, sold as a CNC-cut plywood kit by Boatkits, part of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. A U-shaped bench in the bow gives up to six people a clear view while the helmsman steers from aft. The motor sits concealed at the stern to deaden noise; 3 to 8 hp is specified, and 8 hp gives about 8 knots. Beam is 1.70 m and weight about 210 kg.
A displacement hull with simple seating, manageable for a patient beginner. Boatkits gives 75 to 85 hours for hull and structure only and puts fairing, paint and outfitting at 1 to 1.5 times that again. A rough budget is 150 to 210 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
