Designed by Boatkits
A 5.28 m open touring canoe, the largest of the Boatkits Canadian series and a stretched version of its popular 15 ft model. It is sold as a CNC-cut stitch-and-glue kit by the German-language shop of Denmark's Boatplans ApS. Beam is 0.90 m and weight about 35 kg. The data table rates it for three, while the text says it can take up to five adults on family outings.
Boatkits says it is not quite as easy to build as the 15 ft canoe and takes longer. Boatkits quotes 65 to 75 hours for hull and structure and says finishing adds 1 to 1.5 times that again, so budget roughly 130 to 190 hours. Hours recorded by builders on this site are shown below.
