Coaster TY 28
Designed by Bruce Roberts-Goodson
The Coaster 28 is the smallest wood and epoxy trawler yacht in the Bruce Roberts Coaster series, 28 ft 10 in overall with a 10 ft beam. Bruce Roberts reports more than fifty in service around the world. The galley is well laid out for the size, and the hull is designed to carry a steadying sail, which also extends the boat's range.
Plans come with engineering drawings and full size frame patterns, which the designer promotes as the route to a fast build, and the study package includes construction photos and pictures of finished boats. Larger sisters at 32, 36 and 39 ft follow the same approach, and a workboat version of the 28 is drawn on the same hull.
What building a Coaster TY 28 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
