Rover 29 Cruiser
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 28 ft 11 in a double-ended, full-displacement diesel cruiser that Sam Devlin based on the small Norwegian fishing trollers of the North Sea and that grew out of his earlier Oysta 30 motorsailer. Beam is 10 ft 2 in, draft 3 ft 7 in, displacement 9,800 lb, with a 110 hp inboard diesel. The Cruiser version has a forward pilothouse and a full-width saloon; Troller and Halibut versions share the hull.
Only study plans are listed for the Rover 29, so construction drawings would have to be arranged with the designer. A heavy displacement hull with an inboard and full accommodation is experienced-amateur work. As a rule of thumb, expect 3,000 to 5,000 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Rover 29 Cruiser actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
