Lingcod 29 Houseboat
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 29 ft 8 in outboard-powered houseboat concept by Sam Devlin on the largest of his garvey-type Lingcod hulls, with a bow transom and vee bottom, intended for stitch and glue construction. The designer's point is that a hull with some vee gives a gentler motion at rest than a flat-bottomed houseboat. Beam is 8 ft 8 in, draft 1 ft 4 in and displacement 6,200 lb, on a planing hull.
This is a concept drawing sold as study plans, and the Devlin site says it hopes someone will commission full construction plans. For a houseboat of this size, a rule of thumb is 2,500 to 4,000 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
What building a Lingcod 29 Houseboat actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
