Harbor Skiff

A 12 ft round-sided lapstrake skiff from Walt Simmons of Duck Trap Woodworking, named because she is the largest size allowed at his town dock in Maine. On a 5 ft beam and at about 85 lb she carries a load, rows easily and takes a small outboard. Flotation chambers can go under the fore and aft seats.
The plan is a single sheet about 14 ft long, drawn full size with every construction detail, so no lofting is needed. Plank patterns and a 76-page photo book are sold as well. Round-sided planking takes more care than a flat-panel skiff, so some experience helps. Budget 200 to 350 hours. The medians below are from builders who logged this boat here.
