A 10 ft 7 in lapstrake wherry with lines taken by Walt Simmons of Duck Trap Woodworking from a boat built in Ducktrap, Maine over the winter of 1898 to 1899 for a 12-year-old salmon fisherman. She has one rowing position, a daggerboard and either a sprit or lug rig, and works well as a tender. A 12 ft version has also been built. Originals were cedar; Duck Trap also builds her glued lapstrake in 9 mm okoume plywood.
Her straight tuck was cheaper to build than the rounded tuck of other wherries, and the designer calls her straightforward, with some built as homeschool projects. Loftings and full-size plank patterns save time. Budget 200 to 400 hours. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
