Cape Charles 32TC

Designed by Dudley Dix

A 9.57 m (31 ft 5 in) on deck classic cutter by Dudley Dix, the trunk cabin version of his lapstrake plywood Cape Charles 32, added in November 2024 alongside the Cape Deseada 36TC. It gives up a little interior volume high up in exchange for side decks, a cabin side to brace against and handrails close by, which Dix regards as safer for ocean work. Hull, 1.2 m draft, 5,200 kg displacement and rig choices match the flush deck boat.

Construction is the same interlocking plywood bulkheads and backbone with stringers at the chines, within reach of a capable handyman according to the designer. Expect 4,000 to 5,500 hours as a rule of thumb. The medians below come from builders who logged this boat here.
