An 8.4 m (27 ft 7 in) radius chine plywood maxi trailer sailer by Dudley Dix, a roomier development of the Didi 26 for coastal cruising and club racing. It offers 1.70 m headroom, two interior layouts, a 10 hp inboard saildrive, a fixed or lifting keel drawing 1.95 m, and an optional scoop stern that takes length to 8.86 m. Displacement is 2,050 kg with 379 sq ft of sail.
Okoume plywood is suggested throughout, the cabintop is stitch and glue, and Dix says a good finish needs little fairing. He rates it within amateur abilities and says setting out each bulkhead takes three to four hours. Budget 2,000 to 3,000 hours overall as a rule of thumb.
