Sanderson 34
Designed by Dudley Dix
A 10.4 m fiberglass cruiser-racer by Dudley Dix, drawn as a production boat for Sanderson Marine and developed from his Cruiser Racer 33 with a longer stern overhang, larger mainsail and modified keel. It has a plumb bow, long waterline, balsa cored hull and deck, an iron foil keel with lead bulb, a balanced spade rudder and a fractional sloop rig with swept spreaders and no runners. Displacement is a light 3,800 kg with 548 sq ft of sail.
This was conceived as a moulded production boat and the page says nothing about amateur construction. A one-off cored fiberglass hull of this size would suit an experienced builder, and as a general rule of thumb would take 3,500 hours or more. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
What building a Sanderson 34 actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.

If you are building one, yours becomes the reference: the page the next person building this boat finds when they search for it. One photo and one line is a valid first entry.
