Calypso
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 27 ft trailerable deep-vee cruiser from Glen-L Marine for the watersports enthusiast: a 7.5 by 9 ft self-draining cockpit with the engine below it, a flying bridge for three or four with a sun lounge, berths for four or five and big fuel capacity, all without a wide-load permit. Sheet plywood with an 18 degree deep vee, bulbous keel and lift strakes; stern-mounted I/O or vee drive.
Sheet plywood keeps a 27-footer buildable, but it is a full cruiser. Budget 1,500 to 2,500 hours. Real hours from logged builds show below.
What building a Calypso actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
