Lingcod 27
Designed by Sam Devlin
A 27 ft 1 in (length on deck) garvey-type outboard skiff by Sam Devlin, built stitch and glue. The bow transom and vee bottom give enough volume forward to nose ashore and walk off the bow, and a centerline keel with bilge keels takes the ground. Beam is 8 ft 9 in, draft 12 in and displacement 3,300 lb. It is drawn with a center console, and a houseboat version on the same hull is sold separately as study plans.
Study and construction plans are available for the skiff. The shape is simple, but the size means a lot of material and fairing. As a rule of thumb, budget 700 to 1,200 hours. Measured medians from build logs appear below.
