Dinky
Designed by Glen-L Marine
A 7 ft stitch-and-glue pram from Glen-L Marine, drawn as a ship-to-shore tender that also rows, sails and takes a 2 hp outboard. Two sheets of quarter-inch plywood plank the whole boat. The watertight compartments can be foam-filled, and the sailing rig uses a leeboard so the cockpit has no trunk, with an optional two-part mast and folding rudder that stow inside the hull.
One of the easiest boats in the catalog and a fine first project for an adult or a supervised teenager. Cut from full-size patterns, stitch, fillet, tape, done. Expect 30 to 60 hours, longer if you add the rig. Real medians from logged builds are below.
What building a Dinky actually takes
Medians from the build logs kept on this site, not the designer’s estimate. Nobody has logged this boat here yet, so they are empty until the first builder does.
Those medians firm up as more people log this boat.
